In August 2023 I installed this 10 x 10' vintage red velvet curtain that once hung at the entrance to the ground floor bar at the Gramercy Park Hotel during the Weissberg years (pre 2006). I hung an uncut roll of Marilyn prints from 2023 next to it on the porch of my family home.

Art Deco Champagne set picked up in the Gramercy Park Hotel kitchen in 2005 and later colored in 2015. This became my business card for thecobaltroom.com named after an after hours club that operated on the first floor of the hotel named The Cobalt Club. It was only in operation for a few years and closed in late 2004.

Punic Wars/Brillo a mash up of two masters Warhol and Basquiat in manner only 2016

Dirty Dozen 2014. A composition of wild fonts with words that are spelled out numbers but each word is unrelated. Numero Uno is a chili recipe. The Final Four is a College Basketball championship. The Furious Five is the name of Grand Master Flash's band. The Dirty Dozen is a WWII movie and the Temporary Ten is just a made up name suggesting a fictitious sports team teetering on failure.

Multicolored Guitars 2014. A vibrant composition using my favorite instrument, the guitar.

S-Bahn Berliner 1987. Acrylic on dropcloth. A tiny train ticket becomes a giant painting, 90" high.

Double Esso 1988 is a lush oil painted on Easter Sunday of that year. The double overlapped logo with a short word creates a buoyant stability with an operatic demeanor. This painting was included in a solo show I did at the Red Zone in 1989 and at a large group show called Love Among the Ruins at Howl Arts in 2017 that celebrated the run of 56 Bleecker Gallery in the east village.

Chez Felix 1987. Inspired by a napkin from a diner in East Berlin one can peer through to get a sense of the bleakness of divided Berlin. The wall came down in 1989. This painting was sold through Saatchiart.com in 2016.

Born 1990 oil and wax on linen. A collection of Cigar box labels with great compact names was the inspiration for this large painting. It was shown in a summer group show at the Vrej Baghoomian gallery in 1990

Hasslinger Crabs 1989 encaustic on canvas is once again inspired by my Baltimore ancestry. Crabbing is a big part of Baltimore so a napkin from this restaurant is the inspiration for this artwork made of hot drippiing wax. The wax was bouncing and splashing off the bottom easel support back up onto the canvas. The colors were inspired by Andy Warhol.

My homework assignment became a work of art. I revisited this early work in 2015 and recreated it in a printed medium. One of my professors told me that I had a "style." This artwork was shown in 2015 at The Architecture of Tomorrow in Brooklyn.

The Gramercy Park Hotel just keeps on giving! During it's second liquidation in 2023 after everything was just about sold, they brought out these Peter Danko seatbelt chairs in red and put them out on the curb offering them for free. I took two and they said they had 4 more. I kept going back to take two at a time and later UPSed all 6 of them to my family home in Michigan for some TLC.
